Being an INFP, do you often feel like you have this rich and valuable inner world full of creative ideas and thoughts?

Sometimes does it feel like you can't seem to express them in the right way? Or even not express them at all and you wonder what is the whole purpose?

The good news is that you are not alone - many many fellow INFPs feel the same way, including Jim from Tennessee, who asked the question behind this episode.

What's even better is that there are many techniques and tools you can apply in your everyday life, in order to improve your communication and expressive skills.

In this exclusive and very exciting episode, I'm answering first voice messages I've received from you via my AskDan page!

Some of the topics I'm discussing:

  • How to plan by season, beat wintertime sadness and depression, have more energy, and reach your goals even if you'd rather stay in bed all day
  • How to make your big dreams FEEL real and make it happen when nobody else around you seems to understand
  • What book can save you if you're feeling stuck in your creative pursuits

Here's the playlist I've mentioned in the episode to answer Guy's question:

How To Work For Yourself, Location Independence, and a Hint of the ol' Freedom

In this AskDan episode, I'm answering a few sensitive questions:

  • 40-year-old ENFP feeling stuck and unhappy with himself in his marriage with an ESFJ
  • 23-year-old gay, agnostic subscriber from Saudi Arabia feeling out of place in her family and community, no one knowing the truth about her
  • ENFP entrepreneur trying to find a stable job that won't make him go insane while starting his business on the side

I did my best to address these questions and offer some advice from my own personal perspective, sharing what I'd do in these situations.

So you have a big crush on an ENFP...What now?! As an ENFP myself, I'm sharing some very important tips for dating an ENFP, what we are looking for in a relationship, and how to be our BEST partner!

There are a few (possibly) surprising things to know before dating an ENFP. It's not just a matter of "are you a personality type compatible with ENFP". There are many other factors to take into account if you'd like to date and have a successful relationship with an ENFP.

Here's the full question I've received from one of my subscribers about how to date an ENFP:

"Hello, Dan! I'm an INFJ with a big crush on an ENFP.

I was looking for an ENFP who can give me some insight about being an ENFP, what makes them tick, and what they might like in a potential partner. 'Cause I saw that INFJ and ENFP have high compatibility, and me and this girl, we click on many levels, but I feel that she might get cold feet if things get too serious.

Anyway, thanks in advance for your help."

How do you react when things spiral out of control in your life? Why is it that some people manage to brush it off and move on while others lose themselves in the chaos and find it extremely difficult to bounce back?

In this episode I'm sharing my approach on how to smooth life's edges at difficult times, focusing on what you CAN do.

This approach, which I call The Asset Approach, will help you improve your baseline in life, manage the ups and downs while not going crazy, and significantly reduce the risk of having a really low low.

Surprise surprise, Mr ENFP with ADHD battles with procrastination (and sounding like a 4 letter government organization)!

I want to share what I've figured out has helped me stop procrastinating and create a wealth of creative content including writing books, recording podcasts, and especially, consistently filming YouTube videos.

Getting stuck in the creative block is not fun and, apart from wasting a ton of time, it may feel like you're wasting your talents away! Creative energy is not very predictable, so the question is:

How to stop procrastinating and maximize your creativity so that you can get more of your creative work done?

As an ENFP with ADHD, I myself struggled with this, so I'd like to share some helpful tips on how I overcome procrastination and manage to follow through on my creative projects by reframing what procrastination means to my creative process.

In this Part 4 of my AskDan session which I recorded here in Spain, I'm sharing some more responses to the questions I've received from some of my subscribers.

What is the best strategy for a young ENFP to pick the right college major or career? Given the ENFP personality traits, what should ENFPs take into consideration when deciding on their career path? I'm sharing a bit of my own ENFP career story and one very important tip to set you on the right track.

What should you do if you'd like to change your ENFP career into one that is more meaningful to you, but you're scared since you have a family and financial obligations to take care of?

I'm debunking the starving artist myth and sharing my best advice on how to think about the risk that comes with pursuing your ENFP passion. If you're aspiring to be a writer or a copywriter, this advice may be especially useful to you.

If you're thinking of becoming location independent, travelling full time, and starting your own business that would allow you to have such a lifestyle, there are some very important things you have to consider. I'm sharing some tips on discipline, accountability, and how to start a blog even if you're a full-time employee right now.

This is Part 3 of a little AskDan session of mine where I respond to questions from my subscribers sent to me via my website.

In this episode I'm answering:

What should you do if you feel like a failure at everything? If you find it difficult to start taking action and reach your goals, it may have a huge bad impact on your confidence. You may end up in a vicious cycle of beating yourself up, not feeling confident enough to try to work on your goals, which will, in turn, make you even less confident.

Are you comparing yourself to others' perfect lives on Instagram and feeling that everyone's doing much better than you? Listen up for some advice on how to break out of this poor state, how to stop feeling like a failure, and rebuild your confidence step by step!

To be top performers, should ENFPs work at jobs they are less suited for to build more knowledge, job skills, and credibility to better perform later at something they'd rather do - or should they jump right into it and start doing their own thing immediately?

Building skills and learning are very important and I'd like to share some of my personal stories around my own ENFP career and jobs, as well as some advice on how an ENFP can go about gaining knowledge and skills in the most effective way.

This is Part 2 of a little AskDan session of mine that I recorded as I was waiting for some important news about my recent investment in Ukraine, which got me a bit worked up. So I thought it would be good to cheer myself up with the notes and questions from my lovely subscribers!

I'm sharing some thoughts on:

  • Is finance a good career for an ENFP? I'm addressing some pros and cons of having a career dealing with markets and economy as an ENFP
  • How to better structure your thoughts and communicate more clearly as an ENFP
  • Beating procrastination, making the most of last-minute work, and overall being productive and getting things done in a strategic way

As I was waiting for some important news about my recent property investment in Ukraine, instead of giving in to stress I thought it'd be fun to go through a bunch of AskDan questions I've received via my website.

In this episode, which is Part 1 of this little AskDan session of mine, I'm sharing some helpful advice on:

  • Changing your MBTI type and if an ENFP with ADHD can actually turn into an ENTJ
  • Quitting a well-paid job that doesn't inspire you
  • How to take care of your need for a community when you're planning to become an expat or a digital nomad and move to a different continent

I was just about to head out to the beach here in Valencia when I saw an email response from one of my subscribers.

He's an 18-year-old ENFP and he wrote about how difficult life was going for him. At this age he is still trying to figure some things out for him and overall feels life is very hard.

After finding out he's the ENFP personality type, he's been learning about himself and trying to improve, but is having these struggles of not being able to figure out life, feeling overwhelmed and trapped.

As an older ENFP myself, inspired by his question and a raging storm here in Valencia, I wanted to give him some ENFP life advice on these turbulent teen times, as well as share a different perspective on the stormy times in our lives.

You can check out the photos of the storm in Valencia that I've mentioned in the episode on this link:

Hello from Spain!

I've been here for around 3 weeks, back to my digital nomad ways, and had some interesting encounters and insights that I'd love to share with you in this episode.

How does culture affect our personality and vice versa?

Where we live and people that surround us have a massive influence on shaping our character and personality traits. The cultural values we grew up around, however, may not necessarily be what will ultimately make us happy and successful.

While where you come from might determine who you are to a great extent, I'd like to share my own experience and how we can design our lives according to what we consciously decide and not from what we automatically learn in our culture.

This episode may be especially helpful to idealists (ENFP, INFP, INFJ, and ENFJ) who may find that their values clash with those of the culture they grew up in and, therefore, may feel out of place.

I often get asked for advice around how to pick the best career path if you're an idealist personality type. I've created this special episode with one question in mind:

If I could go back in time and share my best career advice with my 20-year-old ENFP self, what would I tell that young, ambitious idealist?

What's the best way to decide what to do, where to work, or what to study so one day you'll be doing what you really want?

Is it better to jump right into doing your own thing or is it better to get more experience working for someone else first?

The career tips in this podcast special episode are especially helpful for young ambitious idealist personalities (in MBTI: ENFP, INFP, INFJ, or ENFJ) entering the real world after high school or college, but they can also serve you if you're just lost or stuck in life and you'd like to make a career change.

As a special addition, I'm also sharing two distinct career and life paths I think successful idealist personality types should follow, as well as a disastrous one to avoid at all costs!

Keep this career advice in mind when you're choosing your major, choosing a career, or deciding on whether to work for yourself.

It's the start of a new year- the time we're thinking about our choices, past decisions, and making New Year's resolutions. But...

What if you find yourself getting stuck in the big picture of things because you lack clarity on what you want to do with your life?

"What's my life purpose anyway?!"

If you still haven't figured out what you want to do in your life, you will find it hard to set your goals around your life purpose and actually make those New Year resolutions.

You may have heard me saying that my mission here at Dreams Around The World is to help you become the best version of yourself all while creating the most awesome life possible for you and those you love.

In this podcast special episode I'm sharing with you some of my best pieces of advice on how to find your purpose and passion in life, ditching the old approaches that don't work for most of us idealist personality types (in MBTI: ENFP, INFP, INFJ, and ENFJ).

My focus is on how to figure out what you want to do using your strengths, thinking differently about time, and ultimately designing your life around your personality type.

You may have SO many interests and passions that you have no idea how to pick just ONE (*cough cough* - ENFPs and INFPs), so it's not easy figuring out your life passion, your perfect career path, and lifestyle.

I hope this special episode will help you in getting more clarity on what you want to do with your life so you can set your goals to ultimately create your dream life.

HOW DARE THEY do this to me?! When someone didn't treat you the way you deserve, how do you pick yourself up, move on from the resentment, and keep going forward as your best self?

Whether you're wondering how to get over a breakup or how to move on from a bad job where you gave it your all and life slapped you in the face, this question that one of the members in my Dreamers community sent over might fully resonate.

This split-up and breakup advice is especially helpful for idealists - ENFPs, INFPs, INFJs, and ENFJs, who have the best intentions giving their all in their relationships and might end up bitter and heartbroken when not reciprocated.

Full question:

"How do I get rid of old resentment from my previous job? I was overworked, underpaid, and underrecognized for my efforts for 3 and a half years.

I left because there was no way around this. But instead of getting on with my life, I keep thinking about this a**holes and getting really angry at the way I was treated.

This, of course, is filtering into my new job because I'm afraid to give my everything under the assumption that these people will do the same to me.

I feel like this is holding me back and now I'm struggling to get things done."

If you or someone you care about has struggled to make their "lifestyle business" into anything other than a cash pit, this episode's for you. Here's a potential reason why - and a solution!

It isn't uncommon for ENFPs and INFPs to fall victim to both multi level marketing and opportunity marketing...Those "courses" that promise a "business in a box" and amazing lifestyle.

Often these programs will use terms like entrepreneur or business owner when marketing themselves, but beyond the scenes are known as Opportunity Marketing because they're just selling a dream.

I've received a question from Steve who fell into a multilevel marketing trap and, after suffering a great loss, wants to have a real sustainable business...even if he doesn't know it yet.

If you've been failing at business, you might have been a victim of opportunity marketing scams.

Before you blow more money on sleazy marketers selling dreams and ridiculous passive income promises, listen to this episode to learn how to spot a good entrepreneurship opportunity and which ones to avoid at all costs.

Full question:

"I've had 5 traditional businesses. Then years ago I fell into the MLM trap. Finally got out of that after losing my marriage, home etc.

Then I started day trading, man I love to trade, but very hard to make consistent money in trading. Now I'm looking at affiliate marketing, but it seems to me and looks like everyone and their dogs are doing it. I also looked at writing, etc. like you and I'm not a writer.

I also tried wealthy affiliate but they are also just a cleverly disguised MLM and recruiting deal. I really want a real business but want to have it online so it can be done anywhere and give me a worldwide audience.

The 2 closest to businesses I've still found are trading and affiliate marketing. Plus they require no traditional biz headaches, like employees, overhead, inventory, etc.

Hey ENFP! Why the heck haven't you responded to my emails from 7 weeks ago?

Running an effective email inbox will not only save you time and improve your reputation, it will take a massive weight off your shoulders, reduce "I should have" guilt, and free up a ton of mental energy.

Have you ever caught yourself just staring at your inbox not knowing what the heck you should do with this piled up email disaster? Try these strategies out. :)

I've recently received a question from my ENFP client who also has ADHD. It was about how to manage your inbox as an ENFP freelancer and entrepreneur, so in this episode I want to share some of my best email management strategies that will help you beat procrastination and get more done.

Unactioned or back and forth emails take a ton of mental energy, and whether or not you have ADHD or you're an ENFP or INFP business owner, learning how to manage your email and get to inbox zero will do wonders for your productivity.

"I don't want to be controlled!" As an ENFP, I'm sure you've had this thought countless times...but what if you actually created your own prison?

This episode details my recent ENFP and INTJ partnership experience in Ukraine where I had some major insights on how ENFPs function as leaders.

Whether in a business partnership or relationship context, when ENFPs are under stress, feeling overwhelmed and out of control, chances are there was a failure in our ENFP communication skills.

ENFPs are usually conflict-avoidant. We keep things inside, A LOT is happening in our ENFP intuition and we are not expressing ourselves out loud. But...as ENFP leaders, we will have to learn to step up and lead the way - or shut up!

For our ENFP relationships and businesses to thrive, we have to express ourselves, be fair to the other person and not expect them to read into our complex ENFP brain. :)

You might have caught the episode on our ENFP Dark Side and what happens when us ENFPs are under extreme stress...Well, my ENFP Dark Side returned!

In this episode I want to share a story about my recent experience when my ENFP shadow side crawled back under extreme feelings of dread and stress.

If you've ever felt like you're not being your true ENFP self, you're feeling paranoid and blaming other people, and well - you're just out of place...

Listen up for my personal advice on what to do if your ENFP Dark Side (re)emerges.

I've received a question from a fellow ENFP, Judy, a Syrian living in the Netherlands for the past 3 years.

She says she picked up the language pretty quickly and started her Bachelor's degree this year, which was great, but there is a problem:

"Everywhere I go, I find myself feeling like an outsider.

It's such a shame that I barely interact or hang out with my classmates or roommates unless I'm drunk because I'm insecure about my Dutch and it makes me appear as less friendly, but silent and distant.

Which is, of course, a nightmare for an ENFP.

Aside from that, I can't relate or be engaged with most subjects that are brought up in a typical conversation and the Dutch are really distant people and difficult to approach unless they're drunk.

So I truly miss the Syrian spontaneity in everything. When I use English, though, I am way more open, can have fun conversations easily and express myself way better and just be myself.

The only problem is it is really awkward to start speaking English out of nowhere with everyone and it is not very beneficial for learning Dutch.

So do you have a tip for me to be myself, communicate better with native speakers, and use a new language?"

If you're an ENFP or INFP and something doesn't go your way, well...things might just go downhill from there. Don't worry, I got you!

Us ENFPs and INFPs love being comfortable and we're excited when things go well, but...when they don't, we might fall into a destructive mindset.

We're idealists and we should be able to find solutions to our problems in creative ways, right? Unfortunately, this negative thinking can make us stuck and prevent us from moving forward.

These destructive patterns can lead us ENFPs and INFPs to change direction too often, not follow through on our goals, and ultimately not accomplish anything significant in our lives for years!

In this episode I'm explaining why this happens and, more importantly, how to solve it.

Tim, an ENFP, asks how he can keep calm and carry on despite rather difficult circumstances at the moment.

What if you find yourself barely paying the bills, drowning in debt, and always frustrated, angry, or feeling hopeless?

For us ENFPs the best way we handle this stress and get back on track is, well, what I explain in the episode.
